Biosketch
S. Karen Khatamifard was born in Tehran, Iran. He received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2013. He is now a Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Professor Ulya Karpuzcu at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. He is a member of ALTAI group. His research interests are centered around Computer Architecture, particularly boosting energy efficiency of computing and resilient system design. The projects he is currently working on include designing application-domain specialized architectures, such as binary networks in deep learning and accelerators for computational biology.
